Renovating and Going from Tub to Shower

I was so sick of having a bathtub in my bathroom The look of the tub was dated and I never took a bath. To me, it was pointless to even be there! I wanted to see if I could put in a walk-in shower in it’s place. I had no idea if that was feasible at all, but after talking to a few people who installed showers and glass shower doors in NJ, I decided to go ahead with this project.

I moved into my current place 10 years ago. The house was built way before that and had never been updated. I am not someone who takes baths and always takes showers. The choice was obvious that I’d replace the bath with a shower. Like I said, I wasn’t even sure that was possible but I called a few installers and they all seemed eager and told me “That’s really easy to do.” and gave me the basics of taking the tub out and putting a shower in. I knew what I needed to get, and that was people to do it for me!

The tub wasn’t sitting on the floor, it was sitting on cinder blocks, so after the tub was taken out I had to get someone to install a floor in that space. Not too big of an issue, to be honest. I know a lot of carpenters who were willing to come over and put in the floor for me. After that, I called the installers to see if they can come and put in the shower and the shower doors that I had purchased. Within the week, they came back and started to get things ready for putting the shower and the frame in. After that was completed, the next day they came and put in all the glass panels and the glass door.

In the end, the shower replacement was such a great idea. I could just walk into the shower and not have to step into a tub at all! I loved the look and feel that it really brings the whole room together.
